Who We Are

Brady Cattle Co. is a purpose-driven seedstock operation located in Rising Star, Texas, on the Flash Ranch. While our herd size is intentional, our standards are uncompromising. We raise both registered and commercial Red Angus cattle with a clear belief that quality always outweighs quantity. Every animal is managed, evaluated, and developed with long-term productivity in mind.

Our passion is breeding bulls. There is no greater reward than watching a top-tier breeding bull develop—from birth to maturity—into a sound, functional sire ready to go to work. Alongside our bull program, we place heavy emphasis on developing high-quality replacement heifers, both registered and commercial, built for fertility, longevity, and real-world performance.

Beginning in 2024, we expanded our commercial program to include the Red Angus–sanctioned Premium Red Baldy F1, developed as a superior replacement female for commercial producers. This cross—Red Angus on elite Hereford—was designed with a simple philosophy: best red on best Hereford. We have invested in semen from a select group of elite Hereford sires to build this program from the ground up, with the goal of producing productive, moderate, maternal females that excel in efficiency, fertility, and adaptability.

Commitment to the Red Angus Breed

Brady Cattle Co. is a proud and active member of the RED ALLIANCE, a cooperative of progressive Red Angus breeders founded in 2002 and committed to advancing the breed through disciplined selection and proven technology. RED ALLIANCE members embrace artificial insemination, embryo transfer, and elite herd sires to remain at the forefront of economically relevant traits that matter to commercial cattlemen.

Our select bulls are developed and marketed through the RED ALLIANCE Bull Development Center in Sulphur Bluff, Texas, where they are tested head-to-head against some of the best Red Angus bulls in the country. This process ensures our bulls are not only genetically competitive on paper, but functionally proven in real-world development systems. We also market replacement heifers through RED ALLIANCE sales held each March and October, while offering select cattle private treaty throughout the year.

We believe stewardship matters. We believe accountability matters. And we believe producers deserve cattle that perform with consistency and integrity. Every decision we make—genetically and operationally—is driven by the responsibility to produce cattle that honor the trust placed in us and deliver value for generations to come.

Foundation, Growth & Purpose

Our program was built on conviction, discipline, and stewardship. From the very beginning, we laid our foundation on proven maternal genetics—females sired by Right Kind U199, 3J One Of A Kind, 5L Independence, Brown Epic B114, Becton Epic, and Nebula. We believe excellence is intentional, not accidental. Each year, only the top 10% of females earn the right to stay, and we operate under a strict standard: any female that fails to breed back within 60 days, or after two AI attempts, is removed. That decision shaped our herd. Fertility is not optional here—it is a requirement.

In 2021, we took a step of faith and invested in KJL Domain 0102. It was a stretch. It was a risk. And it was a defining moment for our program. Domain elevated our cow herd beyond expectations, producing elite females that are feminine, stout, athletic, and structurally sound—while bringing real growth, carcass value, and consistency. Just as important, his daughters hold onto the maternal strength, fertility, and durability required to thrive year after year.

We believe we are called to be good stewards of the cattle entrusted to us. Our mission is clear: to produce Texas Red Angus genetics that deliver elite growth and carcass performance without sacrificing the maternal foundation required to build herds that endure. Every mating is intentional. Every decision is evaluated. We strive to honor the strengths of both sire and dam, aligning proven genetics with disciplined management to produce cattle that work—today, tomorrow, and for generations to come.

Our focus on Red Angus cattle lies in the following.

Phenotype | Red Angus cattle that are built right and prepared to perform in the extremes of Texas.

Animal Growth | growth rate and structure of the animal with natural rations. Our cattle graze native Texas grasslands and we expect them to produce. Our herd is supplemented with hay mostly in the winter cattle cube on a very limited basis and a balanced ration of minerals. We produce cattle that maximize their rations. Bull calves are raised to 4 months on their mother and native forage. From 5 months to 6 months they will have access to creep to help supplement growth. Select bulls that have performed to 6 months of age are then sent to the RED ALLIANCE bull development center in Sulphur Bluff, Tx to maximize their potential.

Breeding Soundness | It is our goal to produce heifers that when paired with the right bull calve without assistance in their first season. we also strive to produce females with breeding longevity. In our bulls, we expect moderate realistic birth weights (70 -88 #) and exceptional growth rates.

EPD'S | Down on our focus list but not any less important are EPD's. Through artificial insemination and natural service, we strive to produce the most balanced EPD's possible. Balanced and consistent is the key to our cattle.

Disposition | Red Angus cattle are renown for their ease of handling. Our cattle are bred for ease of handling and held to the highest of docility standards.

Brady Cattle Co. and The Flash Ranch are proud supporters of our local FFA here in Rising Star through our fundraiser we hold each spring in honor of my son Barry Austin Allen. In 2020 we were so proud of the money we raised despite the economy and pandemic. We are looking forward to many more years of support for this wonderful organization.

We currently have one Heifer consigned to Ms. Evelyn Leggett | Rising Star FFA Chapter for shows during the 2022 show season. Evelyn is showing 77AUS FLASH MS ELAINE K702DB. We wish them both the very best this show season.
